Innovative Public Toilet Solutions for Transport for London and Brent Town Centre

Transport for London, UK

In response to the lack of public facilities in Brent Town Centre and the need for bus drivers to have access to proper toilet facilities, Danfo has provided a modern and sustainable Tetragon toilet block, located outside Sudbury & Harrow Road Station. Opening on June 7, 2013, this new addition offers convenience and comfort to both bus drivers and town centre visitors.

Sustainable Public Toilet Design and Functionality

The Danfo Tetragon toilet block boasts a contemporary design that enhances the station frontage while also incorporating sustainable features. The toilet is well-insulated to minimize heat loss and solar gain, while all electricity and water consumption are controlled automatically or with sensors. This includes heating, flushing, lighting, hand dryers, and hand wash, ensuring an eco-friendly solution.

Facilities and Accessibility

The toilet block includes two private toilets for bus drivers and one accessible toilet for public use. Open 24/7, the public toilet requires a nominal charge of 10p for usage. Located in a key area for public transport, the facility offers easy access to Sudbury & Harrow Road on the Chiltern line, Sudbury Town on the Piccadilly line, and bus routes 245, 18, 92, 182, 204, H17, and 487 on Harrow Road.

Conclusion

The collaboration between Danfo and Transport for London has resulted in an innovative, modern, and sustainable public toilet solution for Brent Town Centre. The new facility not only benefits bus drivers and visitors but also highlights the importance of integrating environmentally-friendly features in public amenities. This successful partnership showcases Danfo's expertise in providing efficient and user-friendly public toilet solutions for various sectors, including public transport.
