Danfo, in collaboration with the City of Helsingborg, has developed two family room toilets located at Fredriksdal's playground and Dockanparken in Oceanhamnen. These innovative public toilets are designed to provide safe and enjoyable restroom experiences for both children and adults.
Customized Public Toilets for a Complete Experience
During the summer of 2022, two new themed playgrounds were built in Helsingborg, one at Fredriksdal and the other at Dockanparken in Oceanhamnen. Public toilets were placed next to both playgrounds. Placing public toilets near playgrounds is not a new concept, but adapting the design of the toilets, both externally and internally, to become a clear part of the overall experience for visitors is innovative.
The Family Room Toilet - A Safe and Fun Public Toilet Experience
Together with the City of Helsingborg, Danfo developed an entirely new toilet concept called the Family Room Toilet. The goal of the Family Room Toilet is to create safe and enjoyable toilet experiences for users, with children and the adults accompanying them as the primary target group. In designing the public toilets, the needs and desires of users were taken into account. During the H22 city expo, the finished product was in place, allowing users to test, give feedback, and contribute to further development.
Preschool Class Gives Public Toilets a Thumbs Up
As part of the development process, a preschool class from the Örebro region visited one of the new family room toilet at Danfo's production facility in Nora. The children were very pleased with the toilet's design and gave it high ratings. They particularly appreciated the playful and colorful elements in the public toilet, which created a fun and safe environment for the children.
