Smart solutions with advertising-financed public toilets
In some 50 locations throughout Sweden, out-of-home advertising company Clear Channel operates municipal public toilets. All the facilities are provided and managed by Danfo.

Clear Channel’s business is providing outdoor advertising space in attractive sites throughout Scandinavia. One of their business concepts involves finding new, useful ways of reaching consumers in an urban setting.
“We offer to help supply Swedish municipalities with the facilities they need by providing city services on their behalf,” says Clear Channel site manager Claes Kugelberg.
One element of the concept involves establishing and operating public toilets on behalf of the municipalities. Advertising displayed on the buildings helps cover some or all of then costs, and the service means the municipalities don’t have to go to the trouble of establishing through a lengthy procurement process.
Public toilets from Boden, Stockholm to Karlskrona
From Boden in the north to Karlskrona in the south, Clear Channel owns and operates some 50 public toilet buildings. All are manufactured and delivered by Danfo – and cleaned, serviced and repaired through Danfo’s complete Danfo360 service.
“Their total service package is an essential part of our offering to our customers, says Claes Kugelberg. “To be perceived as attractive, the toilet facilities have to be managed professionally by a reliable service provider.
